President Industrial Steel Fabrication plant located in

Memphis, TN SUMMARY:

Defines, implements, and maintains best-in-class processes procedures, and tools to enhance quality and productivity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and direct Quality, Engineering and Purchasing to define scope of work schedule for steel fabrication projects. Administer Safety Programs and Safety Training. Ensure regulatory compliance for all shop operations. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure health and safety guidelines are implemented and enforced. Maintain records of safety meetings. Determine resource requirements for production and installation, equipment, tooling, staffing, training, material and supply acquisition. Lead daily morning team meetings with the fabrication team to set expectations and goals for the day and meet with individuals intermittently throughout the day to review progress. Present look-back week report and look-ahead week projection to leadership team on production team’s schedule and any roadblocks. Build and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and up to quarterly production calendar. Plan and organize production logistics and schedules, establish timelines, manage production schedules, production efficiency, and allocated budgets. Plan and organize installation logistics and schedules, work with PMs to establish timelines, manage installation schedules and allocated budgets. Supervise the production and installation staff to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Ensure company policies, goals and objectives are enjoined and achieved. Ensure employees are reporting to work on time, calling in if they are late or sick, filling out daily time reports, filing proper paperwork for travel expenses, requests for time off, vacation, etc. Ensure incident, accident, and disciplinary documentation is filled out thoroughly and filed appropriately. Manage purchasing, shipping and receiving paperwork, code all documents to jobs and forward all paperwork to the office. Authorize purchasing of materials and supplies by shop staff. Oversee inventory control of tools, materials and supplies, and maintain inventory. Oversee shipping and receiving activities, coordinate with Project Managers to schedule pickups, drop-offs and shipments. Maintain shipping schedules. Oversee routine maintenance and repair of machinery physical facilities and fleet vehicles. Maintain equipment manuals and written schedules of periodic maintenance. Work with Quality and Purchasing Managers to evaluate, mentor and motivate employees, conduct employee performance reviews, identify training requirements, advocate continuing education and skill development. Oversee shop team on conducting comprehensive site surveys to gather information relevant and essential for logistics, fitment, and installation of projects. Plan work for efficient execution with consideration of logistics, order of operations and integration with concurrent projects in production. Ensure that shop staff is maintaining tools, machinery benches, materials, hardware, workspaces and job sites in a clean and organized manner. Identify areas of improvement for increased efficiency, productivity and resource conservation, implement solution. Knowledge in all aspects of fabrication, shearing, forming, fitting and welding, misc. steel parts and equipment, tanks, plate ducts, structural steel, etc. ASME pressure vessel knowledge helpful Communicate and implement innovation, ideas and improvements. Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Implement policies, standards and procedures for the welding department as set by General Manager. Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.

QUALIFICATIONS
