The Plant Manager reports directly to the Regional Operations Director and plays a central role in executing Sibelco’s operational strategy in North America. You will lead a key facility of our growing glass recycling network and contribute directly to our sustainability and performance goals. The role requires hands-on leadership, strategic thinking, and daily decision-making in a dynamic production environment, within the largest glass recycling network in North America.
As Plant Manager at our Wilson facility, you will oversee full-scale plant operations—leading a team of 40-60 employees while managing safety, engagement, production, quality, and cost performance. This is a unique opportunity to lead in a high-impact environment that blends local autonomy with global support.
Your Impact in This Role
As Plant Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Safety & Sustainability
Champion a safety-first culture in collaboration with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards (local, state, and federal)
Support Sibelco’s broader sustainability goals through responsible operations
Operational Excellence & Performance
Lead end-to-end plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and scheduling
Drive performance improvements in cost, efficiency, uptime, and product quality
Deliver on KPIs and plant-level goals aligned with the Annual Business Plan
Team Leadership & Development
Build and lead a cohesive, engaged operations team
Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture through training, mentoring, and performance management
Lead succession planning, talent development, and cross-training initiatives
Continuous Improvement & Change Management
Act as a “change agent,” driving innovation and lean manufacturing practices
Integrate new technologies, systems, and metrics to enhance plant performance
Lead capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and strategic initiatives
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with internal teams (supply chain, engineering, quality, commercial) to ensure customer satisfaction
Represent the plant in stakeholder communications and performance reviews
Proactively manage internal and external relationships to ensure seamless operations
What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations Management, or related field preferred
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in operations leadership roles, ideally within manufacturing, recycling, or industrial processing, with proven P&L accountability
Proven experience managing safety programs, production, maintenance & capital projects
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
Technical knowledge of complex equipment and process optimization
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodology
Results-driven and accountable
Collaborative and people-focused leader with excellent communication and leadership capabilities Comfortable navigating change and driving transformation
