Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to lead our operations at the OSB (Oriented Strand Board) Mill in Lanett, AL. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and staff development. This role requires a strong leader who can drive process improvements while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily production schedules and staffing to ensure manufacturing goals are met efficiently and safely. Direct and coordinate production efforts to improve operational margins. Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems to identify and resolve issues. Mentor and develop production supervisors and crew members to enhance leadership and teamwork. Lead process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Communicate effectively with team members and senior management to ensure alignment across departments. Collaborate with safety, finance, and procurement teams to optimize overall operational performance. Lead by example in fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Perform additional duties assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven record of leadership. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience. Strong leadership skills with experience in developing and managing supervisors. The ability to set clear expectations, monitor performance, and hold teams accountable. Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and enhance efficiency. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to workplace safety and compliance.

Preferred:

Experience as an OSB Production Manager or in a similar manufacturing leadership role. Skills in mentoring, coaching, and team development. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Data analysis skills to drive informed operational decisions. Proven record of fostering a positive and productive team environment.
