Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Provide professional leadership and focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all safety regulations and policies are adhered to in the department. Enforce housekeeping and 6S practices. Manage area to efficiently produce high quality dump truck bodies. Work with supervisor, Engineer, and EE’s on the department to eliminate or reduce defects. Provide input for scheduling of assembly line to maximize productivity of area. Ensure employees have all the resources needed (parts, tools and instructions) necessary for production operations. Resolve issues and make decisions to ensure quality and productivity. Work with other departments to improve flow from upstream processes through the customer. Routinely audit work of employees for work quality. Train new employees and cross-train existing employees Advise the supervisor regarding employees’ production deficiencies and errors. Hold employees accountable for performance. Make recommendations on process improvements, scrap reduction and quality improvement. Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned. As a condition of employment, work all assigned days and shifts and overtime as required. Give welding test and score for new hires Look up and be able to read drawings and orders You must wear all PPE required Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience :

Over 2 years of MIG welding experience, must be familiar with our product line.

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret a tape measure, ability to understand measurements and angles, and read and interpret orders and drawings.

Other:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and ability to stand and squat for up to 12 hours. Ability to use step ladder. Ability to effectively communicate with cross departments. Ability to maintain professional communication even in tumultuous environments.
