The primary duty of a plant superintendent is to exercise independent judgment and discretion in managing all areas of the plant, and in supervising the employees working in all areas of the plant. Essential functions Direct the work of employees assigning tasks and positions as necessary. Ensure that the employees perform their jobs properly and as safely as possible. Evaluate employees and provide input as to whether they should be retained in or advanced from the labor pool or production positions or should be removed from positions to which they had been promoted. Coach and consistently provide feedback opportunities for developing skillsets for the Production Supervisor(s) career path Correct employees as necessary, initiate discipline, initiate work performance and conduct-related corrective actions and recommend suspensions and terminations as necessary. Deal with employee concerns and complaints and refer them to upper management or other resources when appropriate. Assure that the attire of the employees is in line with company policy.
