Job Description
Production Supervisor-DSI/MegaJet 2nd Gemstone Foods 700 S Seminary St, Florence, AL 35630 Job Summary Supervises production employees on assigned shifts to ensure production guidelines are being met within established timing, quality, and cost standards. Trains, directs, and leads the production team in the day-to-day operations to meet production, safety and quality requirements. Responsibilities and Duties Directs personnel. Makes minor equipment adjustments. Informs maintenance of problems. Handles employee’s time and pay adjustments. Processes product according to specifications. Interacts with USDA and Quality Control. Answers operation deviations and prevents operational deviations. Controls processes. Analyzes production efficiencies. Tests products and compiles results
Qualifications and Skills Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises up to 50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education High School diploma or education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred. Experience 2+ years with supervisory experience in manufacturing, and minimum of 1 year HACCP experience. Food manufacturing is a plus. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual preferred. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to qualify for the company’s driving program. Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
