Team Leader- Welding 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 4800 US Highway 280 W, Opelika, AL 36801 Job Description The Team Lead oversees daily production activities within the welding department, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This hands-on leader will help prioritize work orders, coordinate team members, and drive continuous improvement while actively working alongside the team on the welding production floor. Daily Responsibilities Open and set up the welding production floor to ensure an on-time start. Assign team members to jobs based on priorities and workload. Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Planner to adjust priorities as needed. Provide hands-on support in production, including TIG welding of stainless steel and aluminum, cutting, clipping, assembling materials, and producing sub-assemblies or finished products. Train and cross-train team members in welding techniques and the operation of welding equipment. Perform inventory tasks, including cycle counts and organizing materials. Monitor quality and efficiency, stepping in to troubleshoot welding or production issues. Ensure all safety protocols are followed and promote a clean, safe work environment. Leadership & As-Needed Responsibilities Approve PTO requests to maintain adequate coverage. Communicate effectively with other departments such as Quality, Purchasing, and Warehouse. Lead by example in welding quality, safety, and production best practices. Identify and implement process improvements (lean manufacturing focus). Qualifications & Desired Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 6 months of hands-on welding experience. Proficiency in TIG welding of aluminum and stainless steel. Welding certificate and automotive manufacturing experience are strong assets. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Positive, “how can I help” attitude and the ability to lead by example. Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices is a plus. Basic computer skills (Excel, Windows); training provided if needed. Ability to lift/move 25-50 lbs as required and work extended shifts/overtime when needed.

Work Schedule & Environment First Shift:

7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with overtime and occasional weekend work as required. Work performed in a manufacturing, shop, and office environment; noise levels vary. 7am-3:30pm, Monday – Friday 40 Hours a week
