Production Supervisor-Night Shift 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Trinity, AL 35673 Production Supervisor-Night Shift Alabama Cooperage Job Description We are currently hiring to fill a supervisor role at Alabama Cooperage. A typical day for a Production Supervisor involves overseeing a manufacturing production line that produces or assembles components into white oak barrels. The supervisor creates daily work schedules, adheres to standard manufacturing procedures, and monitors operations to ensure they meet product specifications and production targets. They are responsible for resolving production issues and addressing workers’ questions about processes, methods, or equipment. Additionally, the supervisor provides training on new processes or equipment and is involved in onboarding new employees. They oversee quality testing on finished assemblies to confirm adherence to tolerances and product specifications. Furthermore, they review daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues.
Compensation:
95,000 to 110,000, including bonuses, based on experience and performance. Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor Lead and manage plant or shift production workers. Direct and coordinate departmental or shift production activities, ensuring adequate staff are scheduled to operate the line. Supervise adherence to all plant safety rules and regulations, and provide safety orientation and training for employees. Enforce compliance with safety standards. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Oversee employee development and conduct annual performance reviews. Document incidents, disciplinary actions, and accident/injury reports when necessary. Assist in the development of job procedures. Inspect materials and collaborate with the Quality Team to address quality defects. Assist in training new team members by developing a training plan for all production positions and ensuring that employees are properly trained in their assigned areas. Competencies and Skills of a Production Supervisor Strong critical thinking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in production or manufacturing operations; knowledge of process optimization is a plus Familiarity with safety policies and procedures Ability to manage performance and understand KPI metrics Experience in supervision, staffing, and scheduling Capability to coach, mentor, and inspire team members and co-workers Self-motivated and goal-driven with strong leadership abilities To assist us in our interview process, please complete a brief assessment that will take 5-7 minutes.
