LOCATION
Windsor, CT Overview:
The Label Printing Production Manager oversees the end-to-end operations of label production, ensuring that all jobs are completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, leadership, and coordination across departments including sales, customer service, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
Manage daily label printing operations, including digital and flexographic processes. Ensure production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained
Job Planning & Execution:
Plan, outline, and detail print jobs from receipt of specifications through to invoicing. Coordinate with sales reps and customer service to ensure job specs align with client expectations
Team Leadership:
Supervise and train production staff. Ensure employees are properly trained and that equipment maintenance is up to date. Provide a safe work environment by ensuring all health and safety procedure are be followed.
Materials & Inventory:
Requisition raw materials and tooling (e.g., dies, print cylinders, material, inks, foils) and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery. Maintain accurate inventory balances by making certain material is correctly charged to the job.
Quality Control:
Monitor production yield rates and implement quality assurance protocols. Participate in audits and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with account managers, bindery, finishing, and shipping teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery
Continuous Improvement:
Analyze production data to recommend cost and quality improvements. Participate in Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives. Research more efficient equipment and participate in the ROI process.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in label or print production management. Strong understanding of digital and flexographic printing technologies. Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex production workflows. Proficiency in production planning tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
