ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

: We are continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, your duties and responsibilities may be different than described. Be proficient in all aspects of Manual and CNC machining Be able to determine and assign the proper process for the job prior to starting it. Be proficient in blueprint interpretation. Ensure jobs are completed within allowed hours, on time, neatly, and accurately before they are needed in the next department and/or shipping. Understand capabilities of all department personnel and use them to the best benefit of the company. Improve capability of machine shop employees thru training, rotation of projects worked on, and supervision. Review procedures and strive to improve via use of fixtures, process changes, new equipment, etc. Check incoming material; work in process, and finished product to ensure quality. Enforce safety policy in machine shop. Observe and ensure cleanliness of machining area. Take measures to reduce/eliminate mistakes made in welding. Order and keep inventory of machining supplies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Machinists Dept. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work.

Education/Experience:

3-5 years supervisory roles, experience working on manual, vertical, and horizontal machines in all phases of turning and milling in a machine shop environment required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of welding required.

Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram forms or plans. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Proficient in the principles of precision alignment of rotating machinery and reading precision measuring tools. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and employees. Knowledge of the safe operation and use of hand and power tools. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.
