Position Summary As a representative of the company and a role model to team members, the Production/Operations Supervisor is responsible for consistently interpreting, communicating, and enforcing company policies and safety regulations. This individual identifies training and development needs and leverages available resources to address them. The Supervisor ensures that all team members meet expectations to deliver defect-free products on time, while promoting a safe, collaborative, and high-performing work environment in compliance with applicable regulations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities Coach, mentor, and provide performance management and constructive feedback to frontline team members. Communicate operational goals, expectations, and changes clearly and effectively. Manage to key performance indicators (KPIs), production forecasts, and execution plans. Ensure consistent adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Determine and adjust staffing levels based on production demands. Collaborate with internal departments to manage the value stream and meet production targets. Provide leadership and oversight within a rolling 30-day production planning cycle. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal suppliers and customers to support workflow and schedule adherence. Conduct accident investigations and maintain appropriate documentation. Set and manage department priorities, ensuring resources are aligned with operational needs. Monitor timekeeping and attendance to ensure accuracy and accountability. Additional Functions Identify future training and development needs for the production team. Support and promote company-wide operating priorities and initiatives. Lead all aspects of personnel management, including hiring, work assignments, equipment/workspace oversight, training, performance reviews, and career development. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 5-8 years of direct supervisory experience in a production environment. Prior experience as a Production or Operations Supervisor in an assembly department within the boat or marine manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dusts masks and respirators. The employee is regularly required to be on their feet; occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Constant use of hands/hand tools for assembly, fine manipulation, inspecting parts, and/or machine operating. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to work a 10-hour shift or more in one workday, including planned and unplanned overtime. Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud and is non-climate controlled.
