Construction Manager Job Summary:
HEMI Systems is seeking an experienced and highly organized Industrial Piping Superintendent to oversee and manage piping installation activities within food and beverage manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sanitary piping systems, stainless steel fabrication, and a working knowledge of food safety compliance including hygienic design standards. This position ensures project execution meets safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all piping installation activities on-site, ensuring alignment with engineering drawings and project specifications. Oversee the installation of stainless steel and sanitary process piping systems, including CIP systems, utility piping (steam, water, air), and process fluid lines. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain project timelines and resource planning. Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and food manufacturing hygiene protocols (GMPs, HACCP, FDA, USDA). Lead daily and weekly job site meetings; provide updates on progress, potential issues, and resolutions. Interpret and troubleshoot P&IDs, isometric drawings, and layout designs to ensure accurate execution in the field. Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with sanitary welding practices and inspection standards. Maintain accurate field documentation including as-builts, daily reports, and material logs. Mentor and supervise piping crews and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality standards. Coordinate inspections and testing (e.g., hydrostatic, pneumatic) and ensure system commissioning readiness.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in industrial piping installation, with 3+ years in food and beverage manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of sanitary piping standards , including
ASME BPE, 3-A
Sanitary Standards, and FDA regulations. Proven ability to manage multi-discipline crews and subcontractors in fast-paced, hygiene-sensitive environments. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA and facility-specific food safety protocols. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and welding documentation. Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Project Site) is a plus. Certification in welding inspection (CWI), OSHA 30, or related fields is desirable.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with automated process systems and integration with control systems (PLC/SCADA). Background in lean construction practices and continuous improvement. Ability to work flexible hours and travel to multiple job sites as needed.

$40.00 – $48.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
