Job Description
Winpak Films Inc. is seeking a Slitting Supervisor to join our Converting Department, based out of our Senoia, GA location on the Day shift. In this role, you will be responsible for driving safety, efficiency, and quality across slitting operations. Your leadership will ensure our production lines run smoothly, operators are well-trained, and continuous improvement initiatives are executed successfully—all of which directly support Winpak’s operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and develop Slitting Operators and Leads, maintaining accurate timecard records. Ensure proper operator coverage and shift continuity for uninterrupted plant operation. Monitor performance and provide corrective action as needed to uphold quality and productivity standards. Enforce safety, housekeeping, and quality protocols in accordance with Winpak’s policies. Conduct audits and implement corrective actions for product defects and nonconformities. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with Maintenance as necessary. Maintain compliance with Shop Floor Data Collection procedures and report shift metrics to management. Support investigations and corrective actions for customer complaints. Communicate disruptions and escalate issues per company procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing, operations, or related field. 5+ years of experience in extrusion, printing, converting, or related production environments. Demonstrated ability to supervise and train employees in a manufacturing setting. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, especially in cross-functional environments. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and production tracking systems. Experience with AVT inspection systems is required. Physically capable of lifting up to 70 lbs and navigating stairs in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, or related field. Prior leadership or supervisory experience in slitting or converting operations. Hands-on troubleshooting experience with converting equipment. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies. Advanced proficiency with quality systems and data collection platforms.
