JOB SUMMARY
Oversee and direct warehouse personnel to ensure optimum productivity, product quality and employee safety. This includes, but is not limited to: scheduling, safety, capacity, quality, efficiency, process control, sanitation, maintenance, labor relations and conformity to customer product specifications and shipping requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure all daily production meets performance standards, product specifications and production schedules.
- Maintain accurate reporting and actively participate in all planning/coordination of warehouse production with other team departments, maintain inventory levels and manage packing/loading output as required for plant and corporate needs.
- Assist in planning and maintaining all warehouse production equipment repairs. Maintain accurate documentation of warehouse equipment repairs to meet food safety standards and production efficiency goals.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, general plant rules, safety rules, Good Housekeeping standards, GMP’s and HACCP plan requirements.
- Conduct a monthly departmental unit meeting at which Production, Safety, Process Control, and Sanitation issues are reviewed and discussed. Function as the primary leader in promoting these programs within the department.
- Participate in the General Plant Inspection program, AIB and
CFP-FS&S
inspections, customer audits, regulatory inspections and other inspections as needed.
- Monitor crew’s inspections of carrier’s trucks and rail fleet to meet food safety and customer requirements.
- Maintain inventory of supply items for warehouse production and reorder as needed.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Direct and monitor the development of department personnel by overseeing and keeping records of training, job performance and discipline
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High school degree/or GED equivalent
- Experience preferred especially in food manufacturing
- Physical requirements-need to be able to lift 50lbs
- 3-5 years of experience in production, warehouse, or operations supervisory role, including managing daily operations, schedules, and inventory.
- In-depth knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, safety rules, and food safety standards relevant to production and logistics.
- Proven leadership skills in staff development, performance management, and leading departmental meetings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP, or CMMS.
- Prior experience participating in or preparing for external food safety or quality audits (e.g., AIB).
- Demonstrated aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
WORK CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This position is often labor intensive and requires the ability to stand for sustained periods of time; frequent walking, reaching, pulling, stooping, lifting, pushing, grasping, climbing, and balancing.
- Incumbent must be able to lift 50 lbs. at shoulder height frequently.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- This position also requires the ability to understand, remember, and apply instructions; ability to apply common sense in performing job duties along with making decisions and communicating.
- Candidates must be able to compose letters, outlines, memos, and basic reporting.
