Position Overview:

This is a newly created Contract-to-Hire role designed for a strong, hands-on leader in a manufacturing or distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams of 5 or more employees in shipping, receiving, stockroom, or materials management functions. We’re seeking a proactive supervisor who leads from the floor, drives operational efficiency, understands and communicates performance metrics, and actively implements positive change. This position offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time leadership role and make a significant impact in optimizing material flow, inventory accuracy, and production readiness. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day operations within shipping, receiving, stockroom, and materials handling areas. Lead, train, and motivate a team of 5+ employees, ensuring high performance and accountability. Drive operational improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and on-time delivery. Collaborate with production planning and procurement teams to ensure material availability and optimal inventory levels. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs); analyze trends and recommend corrective actions. Implement and enforce best practices in inventory control, including stock rotation, FIFO, cycle counting, and ERP accuracy. Support aggressive production schedules while managing material constraints and prioritizing effectively. Conduct hands-on training and serve as a resource on proper material handling procedures. Ensure compliance with all safety policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations. Serve as liaison between material operations and other internal departments to resolve issues and coordinate activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related discipline OR equivalent experience in materials or manufacturing operations Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment . Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to develop team capabilities and promote a positive work culture. Hands-on knowledge of shipping, receiving, stockroom operations , and inventory management practices. Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, reporting). Demonstrated success in driving process improvements, cost reductions, or efficiency gains . Solid understanding of metrics tracking and performance management tools. Comfortable working on the production/distribution floor, engaging directly with frontline staff. Preferred Experience Background in aerospace, automotive, electronics, or similar regulated industries. Experience implementing Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma practices in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Familiarity with government or FAA-related regulatory environments is plus

$75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
