JOB SUMMARY

The Production Manager oversees the manufacturing process, ensuring production meets quality standards and deadlines while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves extensive electrical experience, managing staff, optimizing processes, and coordinating with other departments to achieve production and company goals.

PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed. Ensure production output meets quality standards and customer specifications represented on approved drawings. Ensure adherence to quality control standards and procedures. Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Manage and control inventory of raw materials delivered to production; responsible for WIP and finished products through hand-off to external transportation company. Ensuring manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently, and that manufacturing equipment and tools function properly. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials. Oversee maintenance of equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operations. Work with the safety department to conduct regular safety inspections and audits.

PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and lead production staff, including hiring, training, timecards, coaching, and performance evaluations. Resolve conflicts that arise within the team. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., engineering, quality, maintenance, logistics) to ensure seamless operations. Communicate production updates and issues to relevant stakeholders. Investigate and report accidents and incidents, implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence. Implement corrective actions to resolve quality problems. Participate in cross-functional meetings to align on company objectives. Oversee crew needs and timelines to ensure crew members know their goals and priorities, and resolving problems

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency. Utilize lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and enhance productivity. Gather data as required to support manufacturing improvements. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to drive continuous improvement. Proficiency in production management software and tools. Read and interpret drawings and BOM’s for all products in production. Ability to understand components and systems produced for our customers. Ability to recognize and identify production issues prior to system testing; includes proper application and use of material and tools. Ability to create and maintain standardized work, including both manufacturing processes and work area and work cell layouts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:

7-10+ years of proven experience managing an electrical department within a manufacturing environment.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
