Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Production Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day operations in a high-volume CNC and bevel machining department focused on the production of fittings. This position ensures production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. The Supervisor will support and develop the set-up technicians, oversee coordination with the finishing and painting departments, and serve as the key liaison with Maintenance, Tool Room, and Scheduling to drive throughput, minimize downtime, and support order prioritization and headcount allocation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Daily Production Oversight Supervise and coordinate daily activities of CNC and bevel machining operations to ensure timely and efficient production. Monitor machine schedules and adjust workflow based on production requirements, order priorities, and available resources. Ensure all production orders are completed per specifications and on time. Oversee the Finishing and Painting departments to coordinate downstream processes and ensure product flow. 2. Team Leadership and Support Provide direct supervision to machine operators and set-up technicians, offering technical support and ensuring best practices in set-ups and changeovers. Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Lead training, cross-training, and skills development initiatives. 3. Cross Department Collaboration Collaborate with Maintenance and Tool Room personnel to prioritize preventative maintenance and urgent repair needs, reducing machine downtime. Partner with Scheduling to align production resources, allocate headcount, and reprioritize jobs when necessary due to constraints or shifts in demand. 4. Safety, Quality, and Compliance Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe work environment. Ensure adherence to quality control standards, address non-conformance swiftly. Conduct audits and inspections as required to ensure process control and product quality. 5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting Track and report on production KPIs such as cycle times, scrap rates, machine utilization, and on-time delivery. Drive corrective actions and improvement plans in areas not meeting targets. Lead daily start-up meetings and maintain clear communication with all team members.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in machining preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Strong working knowledge of CNC machining, bevel machines, and set-up techniques. Familiarity with finishing and painting processes is a plus. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications. Strong organizational and time management skills. Comfortable using production management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a high-mix, high-volume production environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma tools.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods on the production floor. Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally. Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature changes typical in a manufacturing setting. Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required.
