$30.00 to $38.00 per hour, based on Experience (time and a half for overtime after 40 hours)
Description:
Hutco Inc. is looking for a shipyard Supervisor for a yard located in Hahnville, LA.
Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following:
Oversees day-to-day repairs of marine vessels in the yard. Instruct personnel on procedures and repairs to be aplished on each job. Complies with written repair specifications. Log time cards for each employee, ensuring the correct job number and phases for each. Effectively utilize equipment and personnel to keep the bargement schedule on track. Maintains a safety watch over all aspects of the yard job. Ability to operate various pieces of equipment and machinery. Controls expendable and consumable items used during repairs.
NO TWIC card required. NO per diem available. Long-term work.

Comprehend blueprints and sketches.
Ability to successfully motivate employees.
Ability to be certified in accordance with a recognized standard welding procedure.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Enter and work in an internal confined space.
Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
Traverse and negotiate uneven heights and surfaces.
Maneuver around piping obstructions and frames.
Ascend and work at heights of up to 30 feet.
Stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
Education Requirements:
Minimum – Ability to read and write.
Preferred – High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Diploma.
Experience Required:
Prior history as a Supervisor, Foreman, or Lederman, and the ability to perform the duties of this job description.
