Site Supervisor 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars Natchez, MS 39122 Job Summary The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Manufacturing, Converting, Fiber, Shipping and Receiving, Stores, and Environmental compliance of a paper and pulp facility, ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality transformation of parent rolls into finished goods (e.g., tissue, towel, or paper products). This role requires a strong focus on Safety productivity, equipment reliability, crew performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all operations to ensure production goals for volume, quality, and efficiency are met or exceeded.
- Provide direction, training, and performance management to the team members across multiple shifts.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for timely troubleshooting and repairs.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing proper PPE use and safe work procedures.
- Maintain accurate production and downtime reports, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate changeovers, setups, and material handling processes to minimize waste and maximize uptime.
- Collaborate with planning, quality assurance, and logistics to ensure product specifications and delivery schedules are met.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and participate in production meetings to align operations with plant objectives.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operator engagement.
- Complete the site daily production scorecard each shift. Follow the escalation standards when required.
- Responsible for all quality parameters in the paper manufacturing and converting facility.
- Responsible for all receiving and shipping for their respective shift.
- Responsible for all environmental issues for the mill.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or converting environment, preferably in the pulp and paper industry.
- Strong knowledge of converting equipment such as rewinders, embossers, wrappers, and case packers and/or paper machines and deinking equipment.
- Proficiency in using CMMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and production tracking tools.
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 operation.
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
Working Conditions:
- Physical presence required in a high-speed production environment.
- Rotating shift work, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
