PHY SICAL PLANT SUPERVISOR PLANT SUP Position Available In Forrest, Mississippi

Job Summary:

Assists the Director of Engineering in his duties and responsibilities in the efficient operation of the physical plant of FGH facilities and utilities. In the absence of the Director of Engineering, makes emergency decisions in respect to the failure of plant utilities or other delegated responsibilities. Assist in developing long range plans in his/her respective area to assure the continuing reliability of the physical plant and to minimize downtime of systems. Supervises assigned staff and is responsible for scheduling staff as needed to meet the needs of the hospital. Assigns and monitors work request to assure deadlines are met. Is responsible for ensuring breakdown and preventive maintenance work request are completed in a timely manner. Oversees work order requests and monitors staff to assure completed work orders are returned to the engineering clerk within three work days. Will assist staff as needed in emergency repairs or situations. Requisitions parts as needed. Communicates with other staff members to facilitate effective problem solving. Must be knowledgeable of all departmental policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Has general knowledge of other sections of the department and fills in for or assist in these areas on an as needed basis. Oversees the HVAC/Steam system (air handlers, chillers, boilers, compressors, etc. and associated equipment) in the facility. Oversees specialized equipment (laundry, kitchen, OR, tube system, sterilizers, etc.) and general maintenance (lighting, roofing, door hardware and locks, minor building repairs, etc.) in the facility. Oversees the Electrical/Plumbing systems (emergency generators, normal and emergency power, all plumbing related equipment and systems, medical gas systems, etc.) in the facility. Performance Expectations Demonstrates the ability to oversee an assigned group of employees to provide proper coverage as well as completion of tasks in the area involved. Demonstrates the aptitude to maintain assigned systems and equipment utilizing assigned personnel to provide quality building services for patient care.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills High school Diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

Five years of experience in electrical, controls, plumbing, specialized equipment repairs, refrigeration or three years of in-house experience is required. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Certification/Licensure-DUE
