The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Green Side Sawmill Supervisor to lead daily green side operations at our New Albany facility. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee production teams, ensure safety standards are met, and streamline processes to deliver top-quality output efficiently. You’ll be responsible for optimizing workflows, fostering a strong team culture, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Reporting to the Mill Manager, this full-time, salaried position plays a vital role in achieving operational excellence and advancing TLM’s continued growth. - Key Responsibilities
- :• Supervise daily operations in the green side sawmill, including the Merchandising Line, Primary Breakdown, Gang Line, Stack Line, and Crib Handling.
- Train, lead, and manage a team of sawmill employees, providing guidance, skills development, and performance evaluations. Foster a productive and motivated team environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental regulations, and company policies. Develop and enforce proper use of equipment and personal protective gear.
- Maintain production schedules, prioritize tasks, and conduct regular inspections to ensure product quality meets both company and customer standards, while adhering to delivery targets.
- Manage compliance with product and process requirements, including throughput, yield, and efficiency targets and other similar metrics.
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs with maintenance as needed and to minimize downtime.
- Track and analyze production metrics, implementing improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Coordinate across departments to maintain seamless workflows and timely product delivery.
- Qualifications
- :• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in forestry, manufacturing, or related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience in sawmill operations or supervisory roles, particularly on the green side of sawmill processes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and inspire teams effectively.
- Knowledge of sawmill machinery, production processes, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in data tracking and computer systems for monitoring production metrics.
- Physical ability to work in an industrial setting, including standing for extended periods and operating machinery.

The role involves working in a fast-paced, industrial setting. The Green Side Sawmill Supervisor must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, with exposure to noise and heavy machinery. The Green Side Supervisor should expect to be on the floor for the majority of their time at work.
