The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of production technicians and operators for multiple lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will include training, scheduling, monitoring production targets and effective utilization of plant resources.
Responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating activities of daily operations of multiple non-woven production lines
Performs all tasks in a safe manner, complies with all safety rules including ZES and confined spaced entry.
Performs daily meetings with team; reviewing safety, equipment issues, production schedules, and continuous improvement plans.
Ensures the coordination of safety & housekeeping audits and the investigation efforts for all incidents.
Accountable for monitoring all process and support personnel to ensure the completion of production goals. Ensures proper documentation of all process parameters is set within range and deviations are completed for all out of control limits.
Follows production schedule and coordinates activities with materials, maintenance, quality and production.
Accountable for ensuring that lines are set-up correctly and all audits have been completed.
Accountable for meeting waste standards and addressing any off-specification material.
Accountable for reviewing lab data and adjusting the process as needed. Reviews control charts and if adjustments are made to the process, changes are documented.
Accountable for ensuring that preventive maintenance is completed per defined schedule. Operator PM’s are completed and signed-off.
Performs routine or minor maintenance of equipment. Assists Maintenance in replacing belts and changing filters and other routine maintenance as assigned by production management.
Troubleshoots process and equipment issues using analytical trouble shooting skills and other tools.
Documents all downtime events with detailed information.
Drives forklift for movement of various items in manufacturing area. Complies with FIFO system for raw materials. Accountable for maintaining housekeeping expectations. Conduct housekeeping audits and report findings.
Accountable for achieving Key Performance Measures; Safety, Quality, Uptime and Yield.
Leads and participates on Lean Manufacturing/Process Improvement teams.
Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Trains team members on equipment and procedures.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Reviews all production paperwork to ensure accuracy and proper completion.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3-5 years manufacturing experience
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Excellent computer skills
Excellent communication skills
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to work flexible hours (12-hour rotating shifts)
