3387 The Shift Lead position is needed at Hood Packaging Corporation’s Thomasville, NC location. This position will assist in ensuring HACCP, GMP’S, work instructions, and SQF requirements are in compliance. Responsibilities Support BOP participation for team members
Take corrective action on observed unsafe acts
Participate in monthly safety audits, corrective actions, and follow-up
Support incident reports and investigations Support OPL training, Safety Awareness communications, and Toolbox Talks
Ensure teams are maintaining proper housekeeping
Ensure LOTO compliance Quality Responsibilities Ensure quality checks are complete and paperwork is filled out correctly and on time
All orders are checked before start ups
All holds are properly quarantined and identified
All waste is reported and transacted in shop floor
Perform random quality audits to ensure products are manufactured to specifications Production Goals and Waste Responsibilities Monitor machine up time and run speeds to meet or exceed standard run rates Audit waste levels and implement mitigation measures to meet budgeted department standard
Ensure schedule is followed for adherence and attainment
Ensure changeovers are forecasted and pre-staged
Prepare for and participate in shift hand-offs
Support policy compliance in safety
Support policy compliance in breaks and lunches
Shop floor reporting – machine status (downtime, start/stop, production/waste entries, etc.)
Participates in daily GEMBA walks and in monthly Scorecard report outs Training/CI Responsibilities Partner with Supervisor for training and development Support new team member onboarding and training efforts
Training outline is completed each week
Support cross-training efforts and maintain training matrixes for area
Support Continuous Improvement efforts
Provide feedback to Supervisor for all new employees within their 90-day probationary period Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to adhere to TC Core Values Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Proven team leadership and coaching skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Position requires physical ability to walk, climb, crawl, bend, and stand for long hours. Experience with Microsoft office
