GENERAL SUMMARY

The Truck Foreman / Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of trucking operations in support of various paving and grading projects. This role works in close collaboration with paving and grading foremen, as well as project superintendents, to ensure that all trucking requirements are met efficiently and that project timelines are maintained. Key responsibilities include supervising contracting CDL drivers, monitoring and recording employee work hours on timesheets, and conducting regular safety meetings. The Truck Foreman / Coordinator is also tasked with scheduling and reviewing work assignments, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters. This position requires sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing project needs. Work hours typically range from 8 to 14 hours per shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work based on project demands. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Complies with all safety policies, procedures and established safe practices and ensures that all employees reporting to you do the same. Reports all unsafe conditions and actions to a supervisor and/or the Manager Safety & Health. 2. Trains, develops, and monitors the safety practices (including PPE) of own employees through regularly scheduled safety meetings, one on one development, reminders and disciplinary action, if necessary 3. Follows all requirements listed in the Supervisor Safety Procedure Manual (SSPM) including, but not limited to, safety training, emergency procedures, accident reporting and investigation and employee observations. 4. Ensures compliance of production staff with all policies and procedures, OSHA, MSHA, and NCDOT guidelines. 5. Maintains a clean and orderly work area and meets other housekeeping needs as required by Sunrock, MSHA 30 CFR 56.20003, and

OSHA 29 CFR

1910.22 and ensures that all employees reporting to you do the same. 6. Obtain orders from foreman. 7. Schedule Sunrock drivers. 8. Provide direct supervision to contracting CDL drivers. 9. Organizes, supervises, leads, and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframes. 10. Submits crewmember’s timesheets to payroll by required deadline. 11. Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. 12. Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill. 13. Enforces all client required safety policies and procedures. 14. Comply with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements including crewmember discipline and documentation. 15. Attend meetings as required. 16. Performs other duties as assigned. 17. 5 years of Lowboy experience. 18. Operates as a Lowboy Driver and / or any other truck that needs to be operated if needed to keep up with the schedule.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred and two (2) to five (5) years of related experience required. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current CDL Class A North Carolina Driver’s License Tanker Endorsements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Basic personal computer skills Prioritize tasks. Handles multiple tasks simultaneously. Working knowledge of Commercial Trucks.
