Assign and oversee employees in the completion of scheduled work; ensure orders are completed and shipped as scheduled, including but not limited to: Ability to properly identify different material types. Ability to independently and safely use and/or operate necessary machinery, tools and equipment. Setting up and operating necessary machines/tools Properly fabricating belts within specified tolerances Inspecting, measuring, packing, taking belts to shipping or stock as applicable Make judgement calls and handle day-to-day issues as related to the department. Work with Dept. Manager, Quality Manager, Shipping and Customer Service Departments to ensure customer orders are processed correctly. Proactively communicating needs, opportunities, or concerns as related to safety, delivery, cost and people. Exercise sound judgement to accept or reject finished or unfinished belts when quality is questionable; recommend techniques/solutions to conform belts to quality standards or re-use material to eliminate waste. Perform inspections to ensure order is fabricated according to order form and quality control standards. Provide input with respect to performance evaluations and progressive discipline on job-related matters as necessary. Accurately prepare production reports and other management reports. Follow and enforce safety procedures to prevent injuries and to avoid damage to company property. Ensure tools and equipment are routinely checked and kept in proper working condition, place work orders with maintenance as needed. Ensure work areas are kept clean, neat, and organized. Keep track of team members time & attendance on time keeping system.

Physical requirements:
  • Occasional lifting, pulling or pushing 50 lbs. or more.
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Occasional stooping, bending, squatting and twisting.
  • Constant use of wrists and hands
Environmental:
  • Works around and/or with cutting tools, forklifts, and other machinery.
  • Possible exposure to chemical odors/vapors
  • Internal temperature of 65
  • 95 degrees Frequently used equipment:
  • Forklift, cutting equipment, chop saw, measuring tools such as: tape
  • measure, square and straight edge
