Onslow Grading and Paving Inc, a family owned grading and paving contractor in Jacksonville, NC, seeks an organized and energized team-player for a Foreman in the Asphalt Division. This role provides individuals with the opportunity to impact all of Onslow Grading and Paving Inc and serves as a foundation for growth within the company. It provides exposure, training, and experience for professional achievement and development within the Asphalt Division and across the company. Overview The Foreman is responsible for the successful, safe, and profitable execution of jobs within the Asphalt Division of Onslow Grading and Paving Inc, in accordance with guidelines, while building and maintaining strong customer relationships through highly-responsive service, reliability, and quality projects. Responsibilities . Ensuring the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with job. Training new crew members. Calculating the number of trucks required to haul asphalt from the plant according to vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, distance from work site, andproductivity of drivers. Touring job sites to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules, to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment, measure slope andmaterial thickness to verify compliance with contracts, and to supervisethe job. Supervising and coordinating crew activities, studying production schedules, and estimating work requirements for completion of job assignment incompliance with or beating the job estimate.quality, and crew performance Maintaining time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing. Maintaining company policy. Recommends measures to improve productions methods, equipment performance, product Will directly supervise 5 to 10 asphalt paving employees Minimum Qualifications 5 years’ experience in field operations in a production/foreman capacity, with previous supervisory experience. E xperience is required. Previous experience in the asphalt paving industry or in a service trade environment strongly preferred. High school diploma and/or a combination of education, experience and training. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Must be able to pass drug screen. Must be able to pass background check to obtain military base access. Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to keep time and material records.
