Its primary focus is to provide excellent quality and service throughout the manufacturing process. With over 30 facilities across the United States and internationally, we take pride in having a culture that fosters an open, trusting and collaborative work environment. Most importantly we put safety first. We are in search of a 2nd Shift Packaging Lead in Training for our production facility located in Archdale, NC. We are looking for someone with demonstrated leadership experience, who is approachable, accepts responsibility, practices confidentiality, and is mutually supportive. The position will oversee the shipping/packaging operation including: Safety, direction of work, product flow, quality, yield, efficiencies, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and oversees the packaging department.
  • Ensures that the departments operate in a safe, clean and efficient manner while producing product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Accomplishes production goals by communicating clear job expectations and by providing the necessary resources to the employees in order for them to perform their tasks effectively.
  • Self-starter that can coordinate the effective use of time, labor and resources to minimize or eliminate downtime.
  • Learn all functions of packaging department. Fill in for production employees as needed.
  • Trains, cross-trains and provides guidance to employees.
  • Committed to building a strong team culture that enhances growth opportunities for team members.
  • Promotes and demonstrates company’s core values, culture, policies and procedures through communication and actions.
  • Responsible for evaluating quality and taking corrective action to ensure the production of quality products.
Requirements:
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • 5+ years of related leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience overseeing 12-19 people in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates degree or proven hands on experience in manufacturing/production environment.
  • Must be capable of learning and comprehending job assignments, possess good memory and recall abilities, troubleshoot problems and independently implement solutions.
  • Must be able read a tape measure, interpret data and determine best yields from material.
  • Capable of operating in a fast pace environment where production changes can and will come regularly.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and work additional hours.
  • Experience with bar code systems.
  • Can work independently, keep an organized work space, and pays attention to detail.
  • Is approachable, takes accountability, practices confidentiality, and is mutually supportive.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required for this position.
