Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced 2nd Shift Production Manager / Equipment Operator to oversee production activities while operating key equipment to meet shift goals. This dual-role position requires a strong leader who can manage people, prioritize safety and quality, and maintain equipment efficiency during second-shift operations. Supervise and lead production staff on the 2nd shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion of production schedules. Operate a variety of industrial machinery and production equipment according to company standards. Monitor shift performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. Train and mentor production team members on equipment usage, safety practices, and quality standards. Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA). Collaborate with maintenance and quality departments to resolve equipment or product issues. Track shift productivity, scrap, downtime, and report key metrics to management. Support and enforce continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure the proper handoff to incoming shifts. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment , including equipment operation and supervisory experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with operating and troubleshooting production machinery. Proven leadership abilities with strong communication and team management skills. Understanding of production scheduling, quality control standards, and safety regulations. Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Availability to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime or weekends, as needed. High school diploma or GED required; associate or technical degree preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment , including equipment operation and supervisory experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with operating and troubleshooting production machinery. Proven leadership abilities with strong communication and team management skills.
