Position Description Extrusion Techs are responsible for all aspects of production from start to finish. This includes maintaining a clean and safe operating environment, preparing for changeovers, testing product quality, efficiently operating machines, planning materials for production, immediately reporting any concerns/issues with safety, machines, quality, etc. to the appropriate individual, and more. Compensation for this position will be based on skill, and many advancement opportunities will be available. This may include opportunities within and outside of the Production Department. Work Schedule This position works 12-hour shifts, either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am depending on shift. This schedule works on a 2-2-3 schedule (work two, off two, work three, and vice versa). The hours per week will be 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week, then restart. Additional overtime may be required as necessary for the success of the team. Safety Understand and follow all safety procedures and policies.
Follow all safety rules and procedures established by the company. Immediately report any safety concerns/issues to the appropriate individual. Responsibilities Set-up and operate extrusion lines and support high-quality product.
Reviews order specifications to ensure the correct packaging supplies and raw materials are available to produce a product that meets the customer’s specifications.
Observes and checks finished film coming off the production lines and takes immediate corrective action to eliminate the causes of a sub-standard product.
Remove and package finished rolls from machine.
Monitors equipment to ensure it is operating properly and under supervision of the Lead Operator performs routine maintenance on equipment.
Complete daily production paperwork and troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns.
Under the direction of the Lead Operator may train team members correct operating procedures, safety, and quality policy procedures.
Learn and comprehend all equipment so adjustments can be made if/when needed. Quality
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined at Pregis Films.
- Perform all aspects of the position to the highest quality.
- Report any non-conformance to Supervisor immediately.
- Know all quality standards and expectations of the position and if not sure, ask the supervisor before continuing.
Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent.
2-5 years’ manufacturing experience in a production environment.
Knowledge of resins and their properties preferred.
Extrusion, W&H Film lines experience preferred.
Able to work any 12-hour shift. Physical Characteristics Inside work, 90%

Exposure to noise at or above 85dB, moving machinery/equipment/vehicles, and high places/platforms
Potential exposure to vibration, electrical hazards, and confined/cramped spaces
Required PPE of safety glasses, earplugs, safety-toe shoes, beard/hair nets, and cut gloves
Constant standing/walking
