Job Description

Injection Molding Production Manager 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Williamston, SC 29697 Position Summary This position will be in Williamston, SC and reports to the Operations Manager. Responsible for production personnel including production supervisors on all shifts to achieve high production output with minimum downtime, scrap and quality complaints in a 24/5 injection molding operations. Ensure, that all production personnel are receiving adequate training and are following company standards. Position Responsibilities- Essential Review production schedules based on inventory and staffing requirements, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints

  • Direct or coordinate production and processing activities daily
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work of subordinates as needed
  • Provide leadership to the production supervisors and develop operating strategies, plans, or procedures
  • Direct the hiring, training, supervision, mentoring, and performance evaluations of all manufacturing staff including the setting of performance standards
  • Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff and resolve personnel grievances
  • Continuously improving the effectiveness of the production department
  • Collaborate with staff, other departments, central group functions in other locations, senior management, and decision makers to share information and support strategic goals
  • Act on and communicate problems and issues to appropriate resources in a timely manner
  • Identify, assess, manage and mitigate risk
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Plan and execute actions to attack deviations from targets as well as non-compliances
  • Work in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures and standards in order to meet the safety, quality, productivity and profit targets
  • Secure a safe environment and drive efforts towards a zero-accident workplace
  • Ensure cleanliness 5S and maintains safe work environment within production department.
  • Responds to problems by performing corrective actions.
  • Implement and perpetuate the company’s policies and standards
  • Support the company’s mission, vision, values and management practices
  • Troubleshoot and adjust production to maintain quality and maximum product output
  • Lead a team of people in execution of daily production tasks, work scheduling, training, maintenance and in continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for all production KPIs including, but not limited to OEE and 5S.
  • Perform daily audits of the work areas.
  • Perform inventory counts to ensure packaging and component availability prior to production runs.
  • Responsible for the staffing, the training, and the disciplinary actions on all three shifts
  • Ensure production personnel is aware of quality alerts and acts accordingly.
  • Create and share production report
  • Effectively schedule production personnel for maximum production performance
  • Effectively coordinate change overs for minimum downtime
  • Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair, and maintenance
  • Conduct or execute measurements of plastic components
  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
  • Participate actively in new product development and introduction
  • Implement and manage all shift production operation functions, including but not limited to, packaging, material, Tooling, process, maintenance, and operator level tasks.

  • Previous manager or supervisor experience
  • Previous injection molding experience, preferably in the automotive industry, would be considered a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communication in English

$29.00 – $31.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
