This leader will supervise the activities of workers engaged in fabrication and assembly of structural metal products, applying knowledge of layout, drawings, and properties of metal. Duties Fabricate & analyze metal components according to specifications and blueprints. Support in-process inspections. Set up Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Organize equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. Fix & troubleshoot products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools. Must possess weld qualification for FCAW, GMAW and SMAW. Will be required to use sound judgment when dealing with employee productivity, attendance and other issues. Act as a mentor and leader for second shift employees. Requirements 6+ years of proven experience in fabrication manager or supervisor role. NAVSEA experience. Proficiency in welding techniques, particularly FCAW. Familiarity with operating power tools and heavy machinery safely. Knowledge of industry codes and standards related to fabrication and construction required. Must have advanced blueprint reading and comprehension capabilities. Must be able to complete assigned jobs from planning to completion of a job as to minimize time and maximize efficiency. Full-Time role with Strong Benefits.
