Full Job Description Job Summary:
American Tool & Die is seeking an experienced and motivated CNC Supervisor to lead our CNC operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in CNC machining, a commitment to quality, and a passion for training and process improvement. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Manage daily CNC operations, assign tasks, oversee schedules, and provide consistent feedback to team members. Lead, coach, and motivate a team of CNC operators to achieve production and quality goals.
CNC Programming:
Assist with CNC program development and edits to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure parts meet specifications.
Training and Development:
Train new and current employees on CNC machine operation, safety protocols, and quality standards. Foster a continuous learning environment and ensure adherence to best practices.
Quality Control:
Inspect machined parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Implement corrective actions when necessary and support a culture of quality-first.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement workflow and operational improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine CNC programming and setup procedures.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Assist operators with machine troubleshooting and minor repairs. Ensure equipment is maintained properly and safely.
Safety:
Enforce and uphold all company and OSHA safety standards. Promote a culture of safety through training, audits, and daily practices.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate logs of production activities, machine maintenance, and quality inspections.
Inventory and Resource Management:
Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure tooling, materials, and fixtures are available as needed.
Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and quality. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to resolve issues and drive performance.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC machining operations. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or lead role. Strong knowledge of CNC equipment, programming, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems and AC7004 NadCap standards is preferred. Proven ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Strong problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Experience in a metals or precision parts manufacturing environment is a plus.
