Assy Base Area Leader Position Available In Newberry, South Carolina

Position Summary This position acts as the coordinator and lead for their area. They will be responsible for continuous improvement, problem-solving, and ensuring excellence in production and quality for their area. Role and Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing employee coaching and development while driving employee engagement in your area
• Be an advocate for proactive safety and safety procedures, while ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all equipment and use of required Personal Protective Equipment in the area of responsibility
• Make appropriate work assignments through manpower scheduling, overtime coordination, and vacation sign up, etc.
• Assist in the continuous improvement effort by driving and coaching our teams in Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery along with other Lean initiatives such as quick change-overs and problem-solving
• Challenge our teams to meet all metric standards and goals
• Engage in honest, open and factual communications in a professional manner
• Demonstrate alignment with Samsung’s values and philosophies
• All other duties as assigned #

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

8 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English
• The ability to stand up for 8 – 10 hours a day required
• Overtime opportunities possible
• All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
• The ability to pass a drug test and background check
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
• Must be age 18 or older
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Regular and predictable attendance is required
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in standard office software including MS Office
• Knowledge of basic shop math and able to read technical instructions
• Must demonstrate strong problem-solving ability
• Capability to learn new specific software and system
