Description
As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented manufacturing team. Your primary goal is to properly organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the shift. Your position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting lower-level manufacturing employees in a factory setting. The Production Supervisor reports to the Director of Operations.
Summary of Job duties:
Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
Enforces company policies and guidelines
Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques
Ensures that production plans are completed by a certain time
Contacts appropriate sources for repair issues
Counsels employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow
Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
Communicates with and assists other manufacturing departments as needed
Evaluates the condition of production equipment
Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers
Compiles and analyzes production records.
Minimize downtime of assembly line by insuring proper set ups.
Perform Quality audits and complete necessary paperwork on specific units.
Informing engineering or Quality control of manufacturing problems.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Previous supervisory experience
Excellent coaching and communication skills
Broad knowledge of production planning processes
Strategic planning skills
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
Ability to work with others in a team environment
Ability to utilize computers/bar coding to track parts, routings, job orders, employee labor, and attendance etc.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
Must be able to see and hear adequately to respond to auditory and visual requests.
Must be able to lift 10-25 lbs, bend, stoop, squat, twist, and stand for extended periods of time.
