Job Description

Sewing Machine Mechanic Sovereign America Industries, LLC Rainsville, AL 35986 Sovereign America currently has an immediate opening for an Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic. The Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial sewing equipment used in production. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of a variety of sewing machines, including walking foot, double needle, and other specialized industrial equipment. This position requires mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills, and a strong desire to support production through equipment reliability.

Essential Functions:

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair various types of industrial sewing machines and attachments. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform diagnostics to minimize downtime. Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules and safety procedures. Adjust machine settings and components such as needle timing, tension, feed, and stitch regulators. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment service records. Ensure machines meet safety, efficiency, and quality standards after service or repair. Assist with machine upgrades and the installation of new sewing stations or production lines. Collaborate with production staff to support operator needs and ensure optimal machine performance. Follow detailed diagrams, manuals, and verbal instructions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1 year of experience as a sewing machine mechanic or maintenance technician. Working knowledge of industrial sewing equipment. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Strong attention to detail. U. S. citizen. Strong desire to learn. Solid interpersonal and communication skills. Must be willing to sign a company-issued Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of employment.
