POSITION SUMMARY
Machine Operator will be responsible operating various machines within the production process. They are required to perform various tasks to set up, operate, process and monitor production. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting as needed or making tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. This includes the ability to resolve minor component and quality issues as required maintaining expected production results. They must verify quality standards of each part and verify process integrity of each cycle per Control Plans.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Operates machines to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift and performing basic adjustments to ensure safe and efficient production of parts.
Perform in-process inspections of parts throughout the manufacturing run and ensure they meet standards of control plan.
Responsible for producing parts in the proper quantity as identified by the production schedule.
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and functionality.
Perform operational procedures to ensure the quality of the product packaged. Replace tooling as needed.
Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
Report material utilization and daily production data.
Recognize defective materials for color, surface blemishes, finish, and dimensions before and after machining
Ensure the machine is programmed for the proper machining, and identify needed tools.
Inspect machine, conveyer and tools in department and notify Lead that a maintenance repair form is needed, or replacement tools are required.
Keeping work area and machines clean and free of trash and other obstructions that could hinder department performance/safety.
Maintain condition of work area to meet 5-S standards.
Communicate with team members and support teams.
Maintain professional attitude offering support to Leads, Supervisors and Manager.
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist whenever and in whatever capacity needed to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
Prior experience operating manufacturing, packaging, and process control equipment required.
