POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position oversees the function of the Paint Department to produce a quality product meeting or exceeding the customer’s specification.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Ability to wear a respirator and be certified by physician.
• Utilizes the Production Schedules in due date order to coordinate workflow scheduling. Exceptions will be communicated by production control or operations manager.
• Assists the Painters, Waste Treatment Operator and Utility workers with questions and workload responsibilities.
• Trains employees in safe operation of paint line equipment, processes and safety awareness.
• Keep Operations Manager advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers and use simple math to perform basic calculations.
• Working knowledge to mix paint, use thinners and other chemicals of the department.
• Ability and working knowledge to assist with preventative maintenance and general maintenance of the paint line equipment.
• Must be knowledgeable with natural gas, valves, and motors.
• Must have Hazardous Waste knowledge and how to handle appropriately.
• Must be able to perform visual inspection and dimensional inspection using basic measuring tools.
• Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
• Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.
• Maintain work area in clean orderly condition, performs preventative maintenance and follows prescribed safety procedures.
• Must have a working command of the English language, and be able to communicate orally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to perform essential functions
• High school education or GED
• Minimum of two years of liquid and powder coat painting
