Direct Staffing Inc. (Hiring on behalf of our valued customer) We’re currently filling a 2nd Shift Laser / Brake Press Operator position for one of our clients in Fort Smith. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone with a background in sheet metal fabrication and machine operation.

Position Overview:

As a Laser / Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating laser and brake press equipment to cut and form metal parts according to engineering and customer specifications. This is a hands-on role in a light fabrication environment with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate laser and brake press machines according to job specs and schedules Load and align sheet metal manually using gauges and fixtures Install machine consumables and set machine parameters Inspect first-article and in-process parts for quality and accuracy Deburr and finish edges after cutting Tag and stack completed parts properly Maintain tools and follow safety and housekeeping procedures Support overall production goals and report improvement opportunities

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of experience operating lasers, brake presses, or similar CNC equipment preferred Ability to read engineering prints and machine setting sheets Familiarity with measurement tools and proper tool care Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift

Work Environment:
