Summary:
Responsible for managing relationships between customers and manufacturing organization as well as managing acquisition of components for the manufacture and delivery of goods. This position should manage relationships by: a) becoming thoroughly familiar with the customer’s organization, product needs, processes and procedures; b) analyzing historical data and account trends; and c) partnering with the manufacturing and sales team to provide the highest level of customer service to all accounts. This position will also be responsible for purchasing of some goods and services, automotive and non- automotive production components, and production magnet wire needed for manufacturing including, but not limited to, components for discreet and MRP forecasted orders. Purchasing of some MRO items and in identifying and developing qualified suppliers to meet Sumida America Inc. standards and Control costs of purchased material when applicable. Participate as needed in ISO 14001 and IATF teams and functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage order fulfillment process by o Analyzing customer demand through customer portals and communications o Develop manufacturing schedule o Interfacing with customers for confirmation of pricing, order receipt, and shipping notification o Ensuring customers conform to mutually agreed business practices
- Analyze sales data to develop forecasts and assist in production demand planning
- Assist accounts receivable in resolving payment issues
- Issue purchase orders for MRO goods and services
- Issues and monitors MRP requirements for forecasted components
- Purchase and assist as required in negotiations of some production components using discrete or blanket orders to meet program and production schedules.
- Negotiates best pricing for some components, MRO items and services
- Assist in resolving shortages and issues with suppliers and products.
- Oversee inventory management of components inventory
- Track in-transit materials as required identifying and addressing any potential delivery issues and coordinates premium/expedited freight as required.
- Process returns and support finance to ensure credit memos are issued and/or stock is replaced
- Assist in controlling the cost of purchased materials.
- Participate in Cost Savings ideas and implementation
- Attain a level of product/commodity knowledge and attain a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the company.
- Assist in compiling OTD data and Supplier scorecard data as required.
- Able to perform other duties as required within customer service and purchasing areas.
- Professionally resolves problems (both internal and external), in a fair and ethical manner.
- Cross train with coworkers to assist and provide time off coverage.
- Participates in ISO 14001 and IATF teams as needed
Requirements:
- Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Knowledge of computers in everyday business scenarios.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work activities.
- Excellent customer service skills.

Work Environment:
