General Production Worker Job Description We are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker to join our dynamic team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for the conversion of micro-prism films and maintaining smooth material flow to machines. This role involves managing material flow, operating machinery, ensuring product quality, and maintaining detailed documentation. Whether you are an entry-level Conversion Technician or a mechanically inclined Films Technician, your skills will be valuable in our production process. Responsibilities Convert micro-prism films efficiently. Manage material flow to machines and load films on and off machines. Slit materials to appropriate widths and lengths, and set up and perform splices. Follow all required ISO documentation procedures. Monitor machines, make necessary adjustments, and perform quality checks to ensure product conformance. Monitor and record pressure and ranges as required. Process work orders in ERP systems. Retrieve chemicals and materials needed for the process. Enter requests in Computer Maintenance Management System. Maintain documentation of all required machine reports. Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and ability to demonstrate it in some capacity. Minimum of 6 months experience in an industrial environment. Preferred experience in assembly or machine operating. Openness to trade school experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to use hand and power tools. Familiarity with manufacturing processes. Why Work Here? Work Environment Our manufacturing floor operates on three shifts, utilizing various machines for the conversion of micro-prism films. The environment is clean, high-tech, well-lit, and spacious. We are expanding with an additional building that will nearly double our size. The facility includes a gym accessible to all employees, complete with a locker room area. Personal protective equipment such as steel or composite-toed shoes and safety glasses are required. Hearing protection is necessary in the casting area. Shift schedules include training on the first shift, with the potential to train on off-shifts depending on the role and training bandwidth. Schedules vary across first, second, and third shifts with overtime available but not mandatory. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon, Connecticut. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
