Full Job Description Kitchen Support Team Member Position Overview:

The Southport School is seeking a part-time hourly weekday Kitchen Support Team Member to support the daily food preparation for lunch and snack programs, as well as all aspects of the kitchen operation, including sanitation and proper storage. The Kitchen Support Team Member will report to the Head Chef. Work schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-2:00 pm. ​Workdays will follow the school year calendar from September to June. General Skills and Abilities Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times. Approach all encounters with students and staff in an attentive, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other staff. Maintain a professional appearance. Consistently arrive at work location on time and ready to work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Including but not limited to: Handle the daily setup, breakdown, and clean-up of food service areas. Follow required standards of cleanliness within all areas affecting the preparation, serving, storage, and rotation of food. Complete food preparation efficiently and with care. Maintain proper cleaning and care of all kitchen equipment and utensils as required. Provide assistance with receiving and unloading incoming food and non-food deliveries and help stock food service areas with inventory. Remove trash and recyclables as necessary. Operate a food-service dishwasher, including rinsing, loading and unloading

Minimum Experience/Skills/Certificates:

High School diploma or equivalent; experience in food service or school cafeteria preferred ServSafe Manager or ServSafe Certified preferred. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 30 pounds Ability to stand during shift Must demonstrate professional maturity Must have a proven track record of dependability and punctuality Due to the nature of the student population, must effectively communicate in
