Event Production Specialist University of Florida – 4.2 Gainesville, FL Job Details Full-time $48,000 – $51,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Customer service Mid-level Microsoft Office Supervising experience Bachelor’s degree Computer skills Events management Leadership 2 years Communication skills Full Job Description Event Operations Coordination Leads and motivates the team, while personally assisting, whether independently or collaboratively, to set up tables, chairs, stages, audio visual equipment, and other furniture or equipment per event documentation Review daily building event schedule and conduct room inspections to ensure the room diagram and audio-visual are set according to event specifications Provide feedback and corrective actions with staff, as appropriate Schedule, organize, delegate, and oversee staff and facilitate projects Conduct inspections of furniture and portable and installed AV systems in meeting rooms and multipurpose venues to ensure accuracy and neatness of setups. Report issues and deficiencies. Troubleshoot and repair inoperable equipment and systems where applicable Review daily logs and reports for notations related to equipment damage or malfunction. Conduct minor repairs and arrange for repairs with outside vendors, as directed Inspect equipment within storage areas for proper storage and location. Monitor staff performance during event setups, strikes, and guest interactions, providing real-time feedback to individuals Troubleshoot AV equipment onsite during events Assists in maintaining accurate inventory of equipment and supplies. Note shortages for the purpose of keeping items well stocked and ready for use Assist with transportation, distribution, and redistribution of office furniture, event equipment, and general equipment returning all items to the proper storage areas when not in use Serve as backup staff to Building Managers, as needed Support emergency action procedures, as needed Training and Development Support Assist with the hiring and interviewing process, as directed Assist with developing and updating training manuals and training sessions. In collaboration with students and full-time staff, lead training sessions that are efficient and adhere to established standards Conduct appropriate redirection and retraining of student staff as directed Ensure all appropriate paperwork and documentation is completed Assist in uniform distribution, building keys and radio checkout Event Logistics Support Review reservation system daily for changes to reservations. Update planning tools and related documents to reflect event goals and needs Assist in determining if additional staffing is required to support complex events or in times with heavier than normal workloads, as directed Attend event meetings, as requested, prepared to discuss reservation details to clarify needs, recommend changes to set ups, and update event set up planning documents Assess systems and equipment for the purpose of advocating for and implementing changes that will best serve the goals and needs of customers Other duties as assigned
Expected Salary:

Annually Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
