We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to support daily operations in our sheet metal fabrication facility. This role works closely with the Production Manager to ensure efficient workflow, team coordination, and adherence to safety, quality, and delivery standards under
ISO 9001
guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Production Manager in planning and coordinating sheet metal production activities (e.g., cutting, forming, welding, assembly) Supervise and support production staff, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule Monitor shop floor operations, identify process bottlenecks, and recommend improvements Help enforce safety procedures and company policies across all shifts Communicate with quality control, engineering, and logistics to resolve issues and maintain production flow Track material usage, inventory levels, and ensure proper staging for jobs Maintain production documentation in compliance with
ISO 9001
standards Step in for the Production Manager during absences or high-demand periods
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training in manufacturing preferred 3+ years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment, with some leadership or supervisory experience Working knowledge of sheet metal processes including press brake, laser cutting, and welding Basic understanding of
ISO 9001
quality systems and shop safety standards Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Effective communication and leadership abilities Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus
