- Repair and install sheet metal ventilation systems, etc.
- Work with apprentice and helpers to install new sheet metal parts.
- Make sure work site and areas are clean of construction debris.
Requirements for this role include:
- Candidates must have at least 5 years of construction, sheet metal or shipyard experience.
- Must be willing and able to work as a team.
- Candidates must have understanding of ship terminology, blueprint and schematic reading.

Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy in dimensions. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate machining processes. Perform welding tasks to join metal components securely and effectively. Fabricate sheet metal products according to project requirements, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety guidelines. Skills Proficient in electrical discharge machining and laser cutting techniques. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes. Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and material requirements. Ability to operate lathes and other machining equipment effectively.
