Job Summary We are seeking a candidate to join our team as Shipyard Laborer. As a Shipyard Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the construction and repair of ships at Victoria Marine by assisting production with various tasks. What Requirements are Expected in This Role? The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Shipyard Laborer job duties (working within a shipyard environment -heavy industrial) include:
- Working on elevated scaffolding to heights of approximately 50 feet.
- Climbing stairways to vessels up to 50 feet high and working aboard vessels at this height.
- Working on ladders.
- Carrying equipment of varying weights of up to approximately 50lbs.
- Working in a non-air-conditioned building way as well as outside the building way in the open Florida environment.
- Using cleaning supplies and cleaning implements.
- Use of power tools such as lawn mower/lawn and garden equipment and other power tools (potentially grinders and saws).
- Working in tight spaces with kneeling, squatting, crawling and reaching overhead while holding tools.
- Any other similar work that may occur in the duty as support personnel in the position of Shipyard Laborer.
What Will Set You Apart From Other Candidates This is an entry level position, so no experience is required. However, we encourage you to include in your resume and application any experience, knowledge, skillsets and qualifications that are relevant to the construction industry.
