As a part of these responsibilities you will interact with customers throughout the organization, maintaining a high level of professionalism, customer service, and safety in a fast paced and team oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Listed are some of the duties you will perform in this position but are not limited to:
- Prepares printing work to be accomplished by gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording print requests, information, and documents.
- Maintains print files and databases by entering information.
- Performs file setup, utilizing ripping software, by following finishing equipment guidelines and maximizing stock yield based on product specifications.
- Maintains the print process by obtaining and providing print service information by responding to requests; and monitoring print job status; resolving problems; forwarding proofs.
- Produces printed products by studying job specifications; communicating with customers; assessing/clarifying requirements; determining price; coordinating deadlines; retrieving required toner and paper; and inspecting equipment.
- Sets-up digital press by loading stock and adjusting for size; setting side guides and rear feedboard; and selecting appropriate catalog stock.
- Establishes printing quality by performing daily color calibrations; monitoring color charts; pulling proof copies; adjusting curl; reviewing and calibrating front and back registration.
- Maintains printing production and quality by inspecting random production samples; loading paper; adjusting settings and controls; correcting jams and tears.
- Minimizes printing downtime by troubleshooting stoppages and breakdowns; calling for maintenance assistance.
- Ensures digital press operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment waste bins.
- Maintains digital press supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level requirements; anticipating supply requirements by reviewing upcoming orders and event schedules; placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Prepares bindery equipment by studying job specifications; inspecting equipment; setting controls on collators, binders, cutters, folders, stitchers, p Achieves bindery production and quality standards by observing equipment operations; detecting malfunctions and deviations; adjusting controls; adhering to bindery standards, perforators, scorers, trimmers, slitters, and feeders; completing test runs.
- Improves printing job knowledge by attending online training sessions; reading technical publications assigned by supervisor.
- Contributes to printing and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
General Duties:
- Will be cross trained to support Shipping Specialist and Mail Room Clerk in order to facilitate the completion of shipments, stocking, deliveries, and other duties as needed.
- Responds to IIA personnel regarding facilities, shipping, print shop, and other departmental inquiries and requests utilizing friendly customer service techniques, ascertaining the needs of the individual, and providing appropriate assistance and information.
- Assists with the resolution of minor routine administrative and operational challenges.
- Performs required and scheduled checks for building safety and maintenance.
- Maintain shipping, print shop, break room, first aid kit, coffee station, and office supplies notifying the Mailroom Lead when quantities reach pre-determined reorder points.
- Maintains all work spaces in a neat and organized manner.
- Performs word processing and other general clerical work as needed.

Customer Service Ability to correspond with internal and external clients of all levels in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner pertaining to all types of communication, including e-mails, telephone, reports, letters, etc. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Basic mechanical knowledge of hand tools and measuring equipment would be beneficial. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Multi-tasking and follow-through are key in this position due to the varying types of duties and fast paced environment. Computer Skills Intermediate or higher ability to work in a computerized environment with a working knowledge of most Microsoft Office products and web-based applications. ( Training will be provided for specialized printing and shipping software.)
