  Warehouse Worker

• Job Description
• The Warehouse Worker will undertake general labor duties such as sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up of the warehouse.

The role involves operating forklifts throughout the yard and warehouse, assisting warehouse associates with weighing, sorting, and moving materials, and handling materials and supplies. The worker will inspect incoming scrap and cars, advise customers regarding acceptable and non-acceptable scrap, and make necessary deductions. Cross-training in other positions is encouraged, and the worker may assist other employees as needed.

• Responsibilities
• + Perform general labor duties including sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up.

+ Operate forklifts throughout the yard and warehouse. + Assist warehouse associates with weighing, sorting, and moving materials. + Handle materials and supplies physically. + Inspect incoming scrap and cars, advising customers on accepted and non-accepted scrap. + Take deductions as needed. + Cross-train in other positions and assist other employees. + Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

• Essential Skills
• + Experience in general labor, production, and machine operation. + Mechanical inclination. + Forklift operation. + Packaging and machine operating skills.
• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop outdoor environment while providing excellent customer service.

+ Minimum of 1-year experience in general labor in heavy manufacturing environments and warehouses, preferably in the scrap metal or construction industries. + Capability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day. + Adaptability to frequent changes of priority and the ability to complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision. + Dependable and consistent attendance. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. + Forklift operating skills are a plus.

• Work Environment
• The position involves working in a production environment with shifts from 5 PM to 5 AM, six days a week, with 12-hour shifts. The work environment is fast-paced and non-stop, primarily outdoors. The worker must be able to work in extreme heat and be exposed to varying weather conditions.
