Plant Utility (Macon) 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 7614 Industrial Highway, Macon, GA 31216 Plant Utility Position Summary The position is in charge of the regrind process which turns scrap PVC (polyvinyl chloride) materials into reusable regrind material. The position is responsible for the complete process including meeting manufacturing standards and efficiencies and maintaining specification regrind standards. The position also provides assistance throughout the plant including housekeeping of the manufacturing lines as needed and performing limited production duties. Essential Functions Reasonable Accommodations Statement To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential Functions Operate and monitor the grinder machine. Conduct daily inspection of grinder equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections of the 3 main sections of the grinder (Pre-Breaker/Hammers, Grinders/Paddles/ and Pulverize) three times/week. Start machine and set controls to regulate speed. Ensure regrind is routed to the correct silos. Sort good product for regrind and discard bad pieces not meeting regrind specifications. Remove gaskets or other foreign debris from pipe. Keep the scrap yard organized and separated by color. Maintain housekeeping standards of the grinding area. Assist with other manufacturing duties such as: gating pipe, reorganizing the yard, moving production bundles, assisting with production change overs/scrap clean up, and production housekeeping. Notify supervisors and other personnel of problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. Comply with all company safety, standards, rules and policies. Reliable attendance. Experience and Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to read, comprehend and speak basic English.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply technical skill along with common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
