JOB PURPOSE:

Optical fiber manufacturing associate. Perform a wide variety of assignments including bench related work assignments and the operation of complex machines. Operate machines requiring limited interrelated adjustments with detailed procedures in manufacturing layouts, engineering specifications, similar operating procedures or work instructions, including but not limited to, inspection; basic care and cleaning of equipment and work area to ensure process efficiency and product quality. Test and inspect in-process and completed products. Perform material handling duties requiring the operation of all types of material handling equipment. Receive, store, stage and ship all types of materials and products. Work with maintenance, engineers or other support personnel to identify and to resolve equipment, process or product issues. Maintain work area organization/orderliness and cleanliness. Perform inspection, basic care and cleaning to include cleaning of equipment, limited equipment inspections and adjustments. Employees are expected to serve as role models for safe work practices and behaviors. This includes following established health and safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean, organized work area, wearing, and properly storing all personal protective equipment (PPE) and actively engaging as a safety conscious worker with personal safety and wellness as a priority.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School GED or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Prior manufacturing experience is preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Specialist – Level 2 Perform a wide variety of bench and assembly work. Operate machines requiring limited interrelated adjustments with detailed procedures in manufacturing layouts, engineering specifications, or similar operating procedures. Assist in the loading, unloading, string-up, set-up, and operation complex machines. Test and inspect in-process and completed products. Perform material handling duties requiring the operation of all types of material handling equipment. Receive, store, stage and ship all types of materials and products. Communicate and instruct other Level 2 employees. Perform work assignment and coordinating duties for a group of Level 2 employees.
