These are 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities which are eligible for shift differential pay.

Positions include:

Cylinder Etch Operators, Preform Welders, and Cut Measure Inspect Operators (CMI).

Responsibilities:

Cylinder Etch Operators Operate Polyflow machines to etch in-process cylinders and/or finished preforms and/or tubes. Rinse, dry and bag etched cylinders/preforms. Transport cylinders to S-Zug ready racks and finished preforms to warehouse. Calculate acid etch rates. Record data/transactions in QDC/SAP Perform housekeeping activities. Support 5S program. Cover other cylinder prep positions as needed..

Responsibilities:

Preform Welders Heat quartz solid on a lathe and “weld” (butt) the ends together to form a handle. Load lathe with preform, align preform with handle, heat quartz preform to weld handle on preform. Flame-tip preforms per customer specifications. Stress-test butted handles. Inspect handles; identify short or bad handles. Load/unload annealing ovens. Enter data on computer. Laser scribe handles. Cut, Cone, and clean Preforms. Measure and enter orientation of preforms Calculate weight to confirm in SAP.

Responsibilities:

Cut Measure Inspect Operators Read and understand specifications and apply that data to the visual inspection of glass tubing Set up Measuring Machine and perform dimensional inspection of tubing. Cut tubing to length specifications using pipe cutter or knife. Must be versatile enough to multi-task cutting, measuring and inspecting products being produced on two S-Zugs simultaneously when required. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment. Record data in SAP; prepare reports as required. Measure, visually inspect, load, and hang cylinders. Transport tubes. Check calibration on six measuring machines, sign off on the results, and report malfunctions to maintenance What is required for these roles: ​​​​​​​ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience is a plus. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
